ذخیره ساز متصل به شبکه (NAS)

دستگاه ذخیره ساز متصل به شبکه ¹(NAS)، یک سرور (SERVER) می‌باشد که مختص به اشتراک گذاری و ذخیره فایل است. ذخیره ساز هیچیک از خدماتی که برای یک سرویس دهنده معمولی تصور می‌شود ، مانند مدیریت ایمیل یا فایل را انجام نمی‌دهد. ذخیره ساز به شبکه‌هایی که از سرور استفاده می‌کنند این امکان را می‌دهد تا ضمن فراهم نمودن فضای ذخیره بیشتر ،مشکلات سرویس و نگهداری و خاموشی را از شبکه دور کند. با یک دستگاه ذخیره ساز ، ذخیره سازی یک بخش جدا از سرور نیست بلکه در عوض سرور کلیه پردازشهای مربوط به داده را انجام میدهد و ذخیره ساز هم داده را به کابران منتقل میکند. یک ذخیره ساز نیازی به قرار گرفتن در داخل سرور یا کنار آن نداشته و میتواند در هرجایی از شبکه قرار بگیرد و نیز میتواند به صورت چند دستگاه ذخیره ساز در شبکه وجود داشته باشد.

نحوه کار و ساختار:

دستگاههای ذخیره ساز متصل به شبکه از لحاظ ساخت به سه گروه تقسیم می‌شوند:

1.       ذخیره ساز مبتنی بر رایانه، از یک رایانه استفاده می‌کند، نرم‌افزارهای سرور FTP/SAMBA/AFP و ... را برای اینکار مورد استفاده قرار می‌دهد. مصرف انرژی در این نوع از ذخیره سازها بسیار بالا است، اما در عوض عملکرد بسیار خوبی دارند. چند تولید کننده بزرگ و معتبر ذخیره ساز از این فن‌آوری استفاده می‌کنند. سرعت انتقال فایل متقاوت بوده و بستگی به پردازشگر و مقدار حافظه رم مورد استفاده دارد.

2.       سیستم جاسازی شده مبتنی بر ذخیره ساز، که از سامانه جاسازی شده ARMیا MIPSو ... به همراه RTOSبرای اجرای سرور ذخیره ساز بهره  می‌گیرد. مصرف انرژی در این گونه از ذخیره سازها ناچیز بوده و عملکرد آنها توقع بیشتر کاربران را فراهم می‌کند. MARVELL، OXFORDو STORLINKچیپهای اینگونه از ذخیره سازها را می‌سازند. سرعت انتقال فایل از 20 مگابایت بر ثانیه تا 120 مگابایت بر ثانیه متغیر است.

3.       ذخیره سازهای مبتنی بر چیپ ASIC، که از سخت افزار  برای بکار گرفتن سامانه فایل و قرارداد TCP/IPبهره می‌گیرند. این چیپها هیچگونه سیستم عاملی نداشته و کلیه اعمال مبتنی بر کارایی ، توسط مدارهای افزایش سرعت سخت افزار انجام می‌شوند. مصرف انرژی در این گونه از ذخیره سازها پایین بوده و عملکرد دستگاه هم محدود به پشتیبانی از انتقال فایل و SAMBA می‌باشد. LAYERWALKER تنها سازنده اینگونه از ذخیره سازها می‌باشد. حداکثر سرعت انتقال فایل هم  40 مگابایت بر ثانیه می‌باشد.
